CEU students, faculty, and staff have access to OverDrive, an eBook and audiobook platform used by libraries worldwide.
Most books have a default checkout period of 14 days. Users at CEU are limited to two books (either eBooks or audiobooks) checked out from OverDrive at a time. Once you have reached the limit, you will need to return a book before checking out a new one. (You can return books early — you don't have to wait for the loan to expire.)
You can browse, check out and read books online at our Libby Library page or you can use the Libby app on your mobile device.
Before using OverDrive, you need to authenticate yourself with your CEU Microsoft 365 login.
Go to Libby Library page.
Click on the button "Sign in With My Card".
Click on the button "Next".
You are directed to the Microsoft 365 login page. Use your CEU credentials and the 2FA authentication.
You are signed in. Click on the button "Next" and find the book you want to borrow.
After you selected the book, click on "Borrow".
You can use the Overdrive Libby app to discover and read eBooks and audiobooks from OverDrive on your mobile device, phone or tablet (Android and Apple iOS are supported).
To begin, download the Libby app from your device's app store.
When you open the Libby app, the first question is: do you have a library card? When you want to borrow from the CEU Library at the first time, click on the button "Not Yet".
Click on "Find Libraries Nearby".
Search for libraries and find the Central European University.
At the Welcome page click on the button "Next".

At the next step click on the button "Sign In With My Card".

Find the book you need and then click on "Borrow".
